OLYMPIA, Wash. --
Bradley Graham (Jr., G) scored 17 points for The Evergreen State College in a loss to Cascade Collegiate Conference foe College of Idaho on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Costantino Recreation Center. College of Idaho held a 28-20 advantage with 6:26 left in the first half before leading 47-26 at the break. The Yotes pulled away for a 100-56 win.
College of Idaho improved to 13-2 on the season, including 8-1 in the CCC. The Yotes are tied with Oregon Tech for first place in the conference. Evergreen fell to 1-11 overall, 1-8 in the CCC.
Graham was 5 of 10 on field goals, hit two 3-point shots, and went 5 for 6 at the free throw line. He increased his scoring average to 10.8 points per game this season.
Jourdan Joseph (Sr., G) added nine points for the Geoducks.
Solomon Campbell (Jr., F),
Zach Jefferson (Jr., G), and
Kohrey Bridges (Jr., F) each grabbed five rebounds for Evergreen. Campbell also blocked two shots.
The Yotes placed four players in double figures. Johnny Radford tallied 15 points to lead College of Idaho, while Alex Germer produced 14 points. Tyler Robinett achieved 13 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Drew Wyman finished with 11 points and was 5 for 7 from the field. Straton Rogers hauled down 10 rebounds.
Evergreen held a 5-4 margin following a 3-pointer by Joseph with 16:57 remaining in the first half. The Yotes earned the next 10 points, including a pair of 3-point baskets by Robinett, to grab a 14-5 lead at the 14:56 mark. Graham answered for the Geoducks with a 3-pointer and
Tyler No (So., G) put through a layup to cut the lead to 14-10 as the clock reached 12:47.
College of Idaho expanded the lead to 26-15 after Robinett sank two free throws with 9:10 left in the half. Evergreen responded with a 5-2 run that started with a dunk by Campbell. After Germer made a layup for C of I, Graham connected on a 3-pointer to pull the Geoducks within 28-20.
The Yotes' 19-6 surge to end the half started with a 12-0 run that included a four-point play by Radford on a 3-point shot plus a free throw. At the break, Wyman led all players with nine points for College of Idaho. Robinett registered eight points in the first half. Graham and Joseph each contributed seven points for Evergreen during the first 20 minutes.
At the start of the second half, College of Idaho went on a 16-3 run to take charge with a 63-29 lead.
C of I shot 51.5% for the game (35 of 68) and made 12 of 33 three-point attempts (36.4%). Evergreen shot 37.3% from the field (19 of 51) and hit 6 of 18 three-pointers (33.3%).
The Geoducks will travel to battle Corban University on Friday, Jan. 17. Game time in Salem, Oregon, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PST.
