OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Alauna Carstens (Jr.) and Max Baeder (Jr.) from The Evergreen State College are ready to compete at the 2025 NAIA Cross Country National Championships on Friday, Nov. 21 at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida. The women's 6-kilometer race will begin at 8:30 a.m. EST / 5:30 a.m. PST and the men's 8-kilometer race will start at 9:30 a.m. EST / 6:30 a.m. PST.

A total of 336 athletes will participate in the women's race. There will be 326 runners competing in the men's race. The top 40 finishers in each race will earn All-America honors.

Carstens won the individual women's championship at the Cascade College Conference Championships on Nov. 7. She took first place in the 6-kilometer race with a time of 20:49.6.

Earlier this season, Carstens set the Evergreen 6-kilometer women's cross country record in 20:15.20 at the Linfield George Oja Invitational on Oct. 18. It was the second-fastest time in NAIA women's cross country history.

Carstens competed at the 2023 NAIA Cross Country National Championships. She was named All-America after placing 15th in the women's race.

Baeder qualified for the NAIA National Championships this season by placing 15th at the CCC Championships. His time in the men's 8-kilometer race at the CCC meet was 25:12.0. At the George Oja Invitational this fall, Baeder set the Evergreen 8-kilometer men's record with a time of 24:41.60.
