OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Evergreen State College men's and women's cross country teams will open the 2026 season at the Linfield Harrier Classic on Friday, Sept. 4 at Joe Dancer Park in McMinnville, Oregon. The men's 6-kilometer race is set for 10:30 a.m. PDT. The women's 4-kilometer race will begin at 11:15 a.m. PDT.
A total of six athletes on the Evergreen women's team are scheduled to compete. They are
Soleil Bianchi (Jr.),
Sylvie Biesack (So.),
Dani Buttrell (Jr.),
Merecedies Dupont (So.),
Haley Huber (Fr.), and
Madison Palek (Sr.).
The men's team from Evergreen is set to be represented by 15 runners. Top returning athletes who will be competing at Linfield for the Geoducks include
Max Baeder (Sr.),
Jaydon Blackburn (Sr.),
Osvaldo Calderon (Jr.),
Jackson Rye (Sr.).
Several of the Geoducks will compete on Monday, Sept. 7 at the Redmond Harvest Half Marathon in Redmond, Washington. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. PDT.
Evergreen's cross country schedule also includes the PLU Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19, the 51st Annual Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 3, the George Oja Invitational hosed by Linfield on Saturday, Oct. 17, and the Cascade Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships in Lewiston, Idaho, on Friday, Nov. 6. The Geoducks hope to compete at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships on Friday, Nov. 20 in Vancouver, Wash., and at the NAIA Marathon Classic in Dallas, Texas on Sunday, Dec. 13.
