OLYMPIA, Wash. -- For the third time this season, The Evergreen State College men's wrestling team has received votes in the NAIA Men's Wrestling Top 25 Poll. The most recent poll was released on Thursday, Jan. 1 as the season moved into 2026. Evergreen did not receive enough points to be ranked in the Top 25. Horacio Godinez (So.) of Evergreen was ranked #18 in the 141-pound weight class.

The #1 team in the nation remained Grand View University (Iowa) which stayed atop the NAIA Poll with 246 points. Life University (Ga.) was listed at #2 with 238 points. Southeastern University (Fla.) was ranked #3 with 235 points after moving up one spot. Indiana Tech dropped one position in the poll to #4 with 212 points. Southern Oregon University from the Cascade Collegiate Conference continued to be ranked #5 and received 194 points. 

In addition to Southern Oregon, CCC teams ranked in the Top 25 this week were Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) at #8, University of Providence (Mont.) up three spots to #10, Arizona Christian University at #15, and Corban University at #18. Corban slipped two positions after being ranked #16 in the previous poll. Evergreen, Eastern Oregon University, and Westcliff University (Calif.) received votes.

Godinez fell one spot from #17 to #18 in the men's individual rankings at the 141-pound weight class. Godinez earned a pair of wins at 141 pounds in Evergreen's dual meets with Arizona Christian and Corban on Dec. 14 in Salem, Oregon. He has achieved a 17-1 record this season.

The Geoducks are set to return to action on Sunday, Jan. 4 at the Mat Cat Open, hosted by Linfield University in McMinnville, Oregon. Matches are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. PST.
