Frohlich-Fair Registers 25 Points for Geoducks, but Yotes Win

CALDWELL, Idaho -- Tony Frohlich-Fair (Sr., W) scored 25 points at the College of Idaho on Saturday, Jan. 7 to continue his string of games with 20 or more points, but the Yotes downed the Geoducks 100-52 during the Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball game. Frohlich-Fair has now scored at least 20 points in 12 consecutive games. He leads the CCC and is tied for third in the NAIA with 25.9 points per game for the season.

Frohlich-Fair has scored in double figures in all 18 of Evergreen's games. On Saturday, Frohlich-Fair connected on 11 of 20 field goals, including one 3-point shot. In addition to scoring 25 points, he led the Geoducks with seven rebounds and also blocked a shot. Bradley Graham (Sr., G) supplied Evergreen with 10 points and hit two 3-pointers. He was credited with two steals. Tyler No (Jr., G) achieved five points, grabbed three rebounds, and contributed three assists.

College of Idaho improved to 17-7 overall, with a 12-4 record in the CCC. The Geoducks fell to 3-15 overall, 3-13 in the CCC.

The Yotes were led by Utrillo Morris with 19 points. He also provided five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Rey Johnston followed with 16 points and three steals, while Tucker Tiddens scored 15 points to go with four rebounds. Dougie Peoples scored 12 points and had three assists, while Reece Sasser-Gunson earned 10 points and hauled down six boards. David Kludt also grabbed six rebounds.

Graham produced the game's first basket for Evergreen, and the Geoducks owned a 5-4 lead when he added a 3-pointer with 17:44 remaining in the half. Another 3-pointer by Graham gave the Geoducks a 10-8 advantage a bit later with 16:31 on the clock. C of I tallied the next 10 points to claim an 18-109 lead on a jumper by Tiddens with 12:34 left.

Evergreen reduced the margin to four points on two occasions, including 20-16 following a jumper by Frohlich-Fair at the 8:44 mark. The Yotes answered with five unanswered points and eventually held a 34-22 lead after Kludt hit 1 of 2 free throws with 3:19 left. C of I led 43-26 at halftime. The Yotes gradually pulled away over the final 20 minutes.

The Geoducks shot 35.0% during the game (21 of 60) after hitting 44.4% of their attempts (12 of 27) in the first half. Evergreen put through 3 of 14 three-pointer and sank 7 of 11 free throws (63.6%). College of Idaho converted 57.1% of its field goals (40 of 70) and made 6 of 22 three-pointers. The Yotes made 14 of 20 free throws (70.0%).

Up next for Evergreen is a meeting at the Costantino Recreation Center in Olympia, Washington, against Lewis-Clark State College on Friday, Feb. 13. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m. PST.
