OLYMPIA, Wash. – Amaialyne Cepeda (Sr., G) from The Evergreen State College has been chosen Academic All-District in NAIA women's basketball for the 2025-26 season by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

"Congratulation to Amaialyne for being selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All District Team. I am extremely proud of her accomplishments," commented Evergreen Head Women's Basketball Coach Derrick Pringle. "As one of the four seniors this year, she set the standard for balancing academics and basketball for the team.  She's a great inspiration and true role model for the athletic department."

CSC Academic All-District honorees needed a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher and were required to be at least a sophomore academically and in terms of eligibility. In addition, qualifying student-athletes must have competed in at least 90% of the games played by their teams or have started in 66% of the games. Evergreen does not give letter grades, but the academic accomplishments are converted to a 4.0 GPA scale to nominate student-athletes.

Cepeda's area of academic interest at Evergreen is American Sign Language Interpreting. She is from Steilacoom, Washington, where she graduated from Steilacoom High School. She attended South Puget Sound Community College before transferring to Evergreen prior to the 2024-25 season.

This year, Cepeda played in 22 of 23 games while making 12 starts. She scored 44 points and earned 37 rebounds. She also contributed 19 assists. In two seasons at Evergreen, Cepeda saw action in 38 games. She grabbed a career-high seven rebounds against Pacific Lutheran University on Dec. 14, 2025.

Cepeda also played volleyball at Evergreen for two seasons and competed in 44 matches and 135 sets. She earned 342 digs and averaged 2.53 digs per set. She was named Academic All-Cascade Collegiate Conference in volleyball this past fall and in basketball this season. Cepeda received Academic All-District honors in volleyball in 2025.
