SALEM, Ore. - Corban scored a goal in each half and kept Evergreen off the scoreboard in taking a 2-0 victory in the Cascade Collegiate Conference women's soccer opener played here Friday afternoon.
The Geoducks (1-5-0 overall, 0-1-0 CCC) got off nine total shots and put four of them on goal, but Corban goalkeeper Elizabeth Brock made the saves to earn the shutout.
Corban (4-2-0, 1-0-0) opened the scoring at 30:29 on the first goal of the season by Eve Ponce, and the second came at 47:29 from Rylee McDonald, who converted her third of the campaign.
Maddie Lockwood had three shots and put two on frame for the Geoducks, while both
Madison Early and
Delaney Rice had three shots and one on goal.
Megan Breckenridge played all 90 minutes in goal and made seven saves as Corban finished with 27 shots, nine of them on target.
The hosts ended the match with 12 corner kicks to none for the Geoducks.
Evergreen goes after its first conference win at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow against Northwest Christian in Springfield, Ore.
