Men’s Soccer Scores Three Goals In First Half, Wins 5-2

PORTLAND, Ore. – With four goals scored in the first half, The Evergreen State College men's soccer team defeated Multnomah on Friday 5-2.

Joe DiCarlo got things started for the Geoducks scoring in the 15th minute of the game. Evergreen got on the scoreboard again in the 21st minute with a score by Mitchell Balmer and assist from DiCarlo. The Geoducks took the 3-0 lead with a goal by Lucas Alcala in the 30th minute when he received the ball from Josh Dubinsky.

The Lions' Jose De La Torre would score the first goal for Multnomah in the 32nd minute but right before the half, K'Gnausa Yodkerepauprai scored in the 39th minute, on a penalty kick, to give the Geoducks the 4-1 lead going into the half.

After the half, Tino Pantaleon extended Evergreens lead with a goal in the 76th minute and the Lions would score again in the 88th minute by Jason Monterosso.

Evergreen recorded 24 shots for the game with 14 on goal. Hunter Bowman recorded the win with one save.

Multnomah recorded three shots and all three were on goal. Ivan Morales was in the net and had eight saves.

The Geoducks are back in action on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Portland to face Warner Pacific.
