Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Hauser Scores Game-Winning Goal, Men’s Soccer Wins 3-2

PORTLAND, Ore. – With just five minutes left in the game, Maxton Hauser scored the game-winning goal and The Evergreen State College men's soccer team defeated Warner Pacific 3-2 on Saturday.

The Knights were the first to get on the scoreboard at 22:11 by Arturo Bahena with the assist from Enrique Leal.

Evergreen had an answer at 32:40 when Tino Pantaleon crossed the ball and Joe DiCarlo headed it in to tie the game.

In the second half, Evergreen got on top with a goal at 56:31 from Carter Stephens and assist from Pantaleon. That was Carter Stephens first goal as a Geoduck.

Warner Pacific tied up the match at 74:19 by Hunter Vancleave but with just a little more than five minutes left in the game Hauser scored the game winner with the assist from Mitchell Balmer.

Hunter Bowman was back in the net for Evergreen and recorded two saves. The Geoducks recorded 13 shots for the game with seven on goal. The Knights had 10 shots in the game with four on goal.

With the win, Evergreen swept the weekend defeating Multnomah on Friday 5-2.

The Geoducks are back in action at home against Northwest University on Saturday at 3 p.m.
