LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Evergreen State College volleyball team won sets one and four against No. 13 Eastern Oregon to go to the fifth set but in the end, EOU defeated Evergreen 3-2 (25-21, 9-25, 16-25, 25-20, 6-15) Saturday night at Quinn Coliseum.
The Geoducks were led by
Lily Stewart, who had 12 kills and
Tayler Parks added seven kills.
Sierra Wolff recorded 33 assists for the match and 11 digs for a double-double and
Sage Burgmeier led in the back row with 21 digs.
EOU was led by Breanna Shaffer, who had 15 kills and Sade Williams had 13 kills. Alexis McMurtrey had a double-double with 29 assists and 14 digs and Hailey Arritola led in the back row with 33 digs.
The Geoducks hit a .111 for the match to EOU's .250. Evergreen had 22 attack errors, 10 reception errors and two ball handling errors. EOU had 23 attacking errors, three ball handling errors and two reception errors.
Evergreen is back in action at The College of Idaho at 7 p.m. local time on Saturday. The Yotes fell to Northwest in five sets on Friday.
