OLYMPIA, Wash. –
Zoe Shaw recorded a double-double with 20 kills and 19 digs in a 3-2 (18-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 15-17) loss Tuesday night to Northwest University.
Tayler Parks added 12 kills and
Lily Stewart had 10.
Sierra Wolff, recorded 44 assists for the match and is just 12 assists away from breaking the school record. She also added nine digs for the match.
Sage Burgmeier led on the digs with 28.
Northwest was led by Susana Bailey, who had 17 kills and Abi Broussard added 11. Anna Saelens had a double-double with 42 assists and 10 digs. Cristina Lorez led in the back row with 16 digs.
Evergreen hit a .066 for the match to the Eagles .108. Evergreen had 12 block solos, including five by Stewart and 10 blocking assists. Northwest recorded 31 errors for the match with nine serving errors. Evergreen had eight serving aces, including three by
Rylee Grams.
"This was a competitive match," said head coach
Alexis Garrison. "Northwest is a fun team to compete against. They pushed us to do better. The score sometimes doesn't fall on your side at the end of the match but there is always successes. We had some great successes today and we will learn from our failures. Congratulations to Northwest!"
The Geoducks are back in action at home on Friday against Southern Oregon at 7 p.m. and will see Oregon Tech at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
