KIRKLAND, Wash. –
Brieanna Dell recorded two goals in the second half but that wasn't enough as The Evergreen State College women's soccer team fell to Northwest 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at the NU Athletic Field.
Northwest scored its first goal in the 60th minute when Olivia Morris hit the shot that was delivered by Anna Lau. In the 64th minute, the Eagles scored again by Elizabeth Moretti and assist from Morris and Liv Lagerquist.
Evergreen was able to tie the match with a couple of goals in five minutes. The first when
Celia Scruton passed the ball up to
Brieanna Dell, who hit the right side of the net as she went 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute. The Geoducks tied the match in the 80th minute when
Madison Spenker passed the ball up to Dell, who went past four defenders and hit the right side of the net.
Grace VanAssche scored the game-winning goal for Northwest in the 83rd minute when Montse Youngsman passed her the ball.
Evergreen recorded five shots for the match with three on goal. The Eagles recorded 25 shots for the match with 12 on goal. Dell recorded two shots on goal, both were goals, while
Celia Scruton recorded one shot on goal.
Lucky Backus was back in the net for the Geoducks and recorded nine saves.
The Geoducks are back in action next weekend at home to close out the regular season. The Geoducks will see The College of Idaho on Friday and see Eastern Oregon on Saturday. Both matches will kick off at 3:00 p.m.
