Sunny Bieber and
Madison Spenker scored the goals for The Evergreen State College in a 2-2 tie against Linfield tonight in a double overtime game.
The Wildcats were the first to get on the scoreboard at 34:29 after Emma Sammartino scored off the corner kick from Ashley Guidager.
Evergreen answered as Bieber scored her first goal this season and in her career at 43:14 after the ball was deflected off a Lindfield player.
Within the first minute into the second half, the Wildcats took the lead with a goal by Laney Green that sailed over the goalkeeper's head to the upper left corner.
The Geoducks again answered the goal at 51:12 by
Madison Spenker, as she was at the top of the box and hit the left corner of the goal. That was Spenker's first goal on the season and 10th in her career.
Celia Scruton recorded the assist on both goals.
Evergreen recorded 18 shots for the game to the Wildcats 20.
Lucky Backus was back in the net for Evergreen for the 110 minutes and recorded nine saves.
Evergreen is back in action on the road at Northwest on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. for a non-conference game. The Geoducks will then face Pacific Lutheran at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m.
