TACOMA, Wash. – The Evergreen State College volleyball team opened the 2021 season at Puget Sound and fell 2-3 (21-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23, 11-15) on Wednesday night.
Evergreen was led by
Zoe Shaw, who had 20 kills on a .325 hitting percentage.
Lily Stewart added 14 kills.
Sierra Wolff had 32 assists and Shaw led on the back row with 15 digs for a double-double.
Puget Sound was led by Logan Winn, who had 11 kills on a .588 hitting percentage. Sarah Blumenfeld had 16 assists and Abby McLeran led on the back row with 11 digs.
The Geoducks hit a .211 for the match to the Loggers .227. Evergreen recorded six service aces and five blocks.
The Geoducks are back in action this weekend at home to open the Cascade Collegiate Conference season. Evergreen will face Multnomah at 7 p.m. on Friday and see Warner Pacific at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
