OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Evergreen State College volleyball team defeated Warner Pacific 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-21) Saturday night at home at the Costantino Recreation Center. The Geoducks opened Cascade Collegiate Conference play 2-0, after defeating Multnomah the night before.

Evergreen was led by Zoe Shaw, who had a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs. This was her third double-double on the season. Lily Stewart recorded 11 kills with a .308 hitting percentage. Sage Burgmeier led on the back row with 17 digs. Sierra Wolff contributed 35 assists for the match.

Warner Pacific was led by Grace Buchanan, who had 13 kills and Matalasi Laban recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 10 digs.

The Geoducks recorded a .307 hitting percentage for the match and best .324 in the first set. The Knights hit a .098 for the match and best .167 in the second set.

Evergreen will hit the road for five matches before returning home to play on Friday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. against Bushnell. Next week, the Geoducks will face Oregon Tech on Friday, Sept. 10th at 7 p.m. and then see Southern Oregon at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11th.
