BILLINGS, Mont. – The Geoducks used two goals late in the first half by
Peyton Rhyne and
Eden Comstock to defeat Rocky Mountain College 2-1.
The two teams spent most of the first half feeling each other out until
Peyton Rhyne broke the stalemate with a penalty kick goal for the first score of the match in the 40
th minute. The Geoducks (2-8-1, 2-6-0 CCC) capitalized on the momentum with another goal, from
Eden Comstock in the 44
th minute of play to send Evergreen into the half with a 2-0 lead.
The Geoduck defense did an excellent job defending their lead for most of the second half. RMC (2-8-1, 1-6-1) managed to score a late goal in the 85
th minute to keep their comeback hopes alive with some late game tension but Evergreen held on to take the win 2-1.
The Geoducks will be back at home for their next match, as they host Carroll College on October 20
