PORTLAND, Ore. -- Brieanna Dell (Sr., F) scored a goal for The Evergreen State College, but Warner Pacific University defeated the Geoducks 3-1 on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Eastside Timbers Sports Complex. Warner Pacific scored two early goals and built a 3-0 lead with about 20 minutes remaining in the game.

Dell prevented the shutout by sending the ball into the net at 86:40. It was her second goal of the season. Josie Harris (Fr., D) earned an assist on the play.

The Knights moved in front on a goal by Kiya Gramps just 2:32 into the contest. She was assisted by Reggie Griffith and Olivia Stumetz. Warner Pacific increased its lead to 2-0 on an unassisted goal by Griffith at 21:32. 

WPU's final goal was recorded at 69:59 on a shot by Shalece Easley. Litzy Gonzalez was credited with an assist.

Dell's goal pulled Evergreen a bit closer, but the Knights retained the lead and improved to 3-6-1 overall, 1-4-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Geoducks moved to 0-5-2 on the season, 0-3-1 in the CCC.

Warner Pacific finished with an 11-5 edge in total shots and a 10-5 margin in shots on target. Dell led Evergreen with two shots.

Goalkeeper Anna Varela (Jr.) played the first half for Evergreen and registered four saves, while Amity Brookshire (Jr.) made three saves in the second half. Kate Pomerinke was in goal for all 90 minutes for the Knights. She accumulated four saves.

The Geoducks will play at Multnomah on Saturday, Oct. 5. Game time i Portland, Oregon, is set for 12 p.m. PDT.
