PORTLAND, Ore. -- Multnomah scored an early goal and held the lead the rest of the way, as the Lions defeated The Evergreen State College 1-0 in a Cascade Collegiate Conference women's soccer game on Saturday, Oct. 5. Multnomah advanced its record to 5-4-3 on the season, 3-2-1 in the CCC. Evergreen fell to 0-6-2 overall, 0-4-1 in the CCC.

Annika Rahf earned the game's only goal on a free kick at the 11:15 mark. The Lions kept the Geoducks off the scoreboard for the full 90 minutes, as Multnomah goalie Jennifer Alvillar registered a shutout while making two saves.

Multnomah finished with a 14-8 edge in total shots and a 7-2 margin in shots on goal. The Lions earned a 10-1 lead in corner kicks. 

Top attackers for the Geoducks were Cayla Muenchow (Sr., M) and Peyton Rhyne (Sr., D) each with three shots. Rhyne placed two of her shots on target, forcing saves by Alvillar. Evergreen goalie Anna Varela (Jr.,) made two saves in the first half. Amity Brookshire (Jr.) contributed four saves in the second half.

Evergreen will take on Corban University on Friday, Oct. 11 at Geoduck Pitch. Game time is slated for 12:30 p.m. PDT.
