SALEM, Ore. -- Izzy Widener (So., F) scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season for The Evergreen State College to create a 1-1 tie in the first half, but Corban University broke the tie with two goals in the second half to defeat the Geoducks 3-1, on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Outdoor Athletic Complex. Maya Alston scored the last two goals for the Warriors.

Corban upped its record to 5-7-0, including 2-5-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Evergreen dropped to 0-10-0 overall, 0-7-0 in the CCC.

The Warriors moved in front 1-0 when Abril Dimas Camacho scored a goal at 15:20 with an assist from Delaney Fiedler. Widener tied the game just over two minutes later at 17:39. She was assisted by Angela Celedon (So., M). Widener has scored her five goals during the past seven games.

She received an assist from Chloe Vanderhoof on the first goal, while Gabrielle Nakamura was credited with an assist on the second goal.

Corban had two chances to extend its lead with less than 10 minutes remaining. Alston took a shot at 84:14 that was saved by Evergreen goalie Katie Gresham (Jr., GK). Alston created a follow-shot six seconds later that went high.

The Geoducks then had two chances to score in the final two minutes. At 88:31, Madeline Dorendorf (Jr., F) shot over the crossbar. At 89:35, Kaitlyn Hansen (Jr., D) placed a shot on target, but it was saved by Corban goalie Ava Hayes.
