Four Evergreen Women's Soccer Players are Academic All-District

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A total of four student-athletes from The Evergreen State College have been named Academic All-District in NAIA women's soccer for the 2025 season by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Academic All-District choices for the Geoducks are Marty Burton (Jr., D), Kaitlyn Hansen (Sr., D), Rosalind Holt (Sr., M), and Emma Stock (Grad., D). Burton received the award for the second year in a row.

CSC Academic All-District honorees needed a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher and were required to be at least a sophomore academically and in terms of eligibility. In addition, qualifying student-athletes must have competed in at least 90% of the games played by their teams or have started in 66% of the games. Evergreen does not give letter grades, but the academic accomplishments of the nominated student-athletes were converted to a 4.0 GPA scale.

"It's been a blessing to have so many players who are committed to their studies and professors who support them throughout our athletic season," Evergreen Head Women's Soccer Coach Kate Green said.

Burton is from Anchorage, Alaska, where she attended Bartlett High School. Her area of academic focus at Evergreen is Physical Science. Burton competed in all 15 games this season, including 11 starts. She provided solid defensive play for the Geoducks and also contributed as a passer on offensive restarts. In her career, she has seen action in 44 games with 36 starts. She started all 16 games in 2024. Burton previously received Academic All-District recognition at the end of the 2024 season. She was named Academic All-Cascade Collegiate Conference in 2024 and 2025.

Hansen arrived at Evergreen from South Puget Sound Community College prior to the 2022 season. At Evergreen, her academic area of interest has been Science. This year, she played all 15 games and made 14 starts for the Geoducks. In her career at Evergreen, Hansen saw action in 39 games with 29 starts. In addition to supplying the team will strong defense, she also earned an assist in 2022 and took a total of 12 shots (8 on goal) during her three years with the Geoducks. Hansen was chosen Academic All-CCC in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Holt joined the Geoducks after playing soccer at Hudson's Bay High School in Vancouver, Washington, and at Green River College. As a student at Evergreen, Holt is focusing on Education. This fall, she played 12 games -- all starts -- and took three shots from her position as a midfielder. She competed in 12 games in 2024, giving her a career total of 24 games played for the Geoducks. Holt earned Academic All-CCC honors in 2025.

Stock, who is from Bellevue, Nebraska, graduated from Papillion LaVista High School. She also graduated from Bellevue University (Neb.). She is working to complete a master's degree in Environmental Studies at Evergreen. She has had several academic papers published. In 2025, Stock scored one goal and two assists while playing 12 games and making 12 starts. During the 2024 season, she started all 16 games and scored one goal. In two seasons at Evergreen, she has played and started 28 games, while providing the Geoducks with consistent efforts on defense plus wo goals and two assists. Stock was named Academic All-CCC in 2025.
