Evergreen Remains #15 in NAIA Women's Wrestling Poll

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Evergreen State College women's wrestling team remained #15 in the most recent NAIA Women's Wrestling Top 20 Poll for the 2025-26 season released on Dec. 11. Evergreen also was represented by six wrestlers in the individual national rankings for their respective weight classes.

Ranked #1 in the NAIA Poll was Life University (Ga.) with 203 points. Life also was #1 in the previous poll. University of Providence (Mont.) from the Cascade Collegiate Conference advanced two spots to #2 with 190 points. Grand View University (Iowa) fell one position to #3 at 184 points. William Penn University (Iowa) dropped a spot to #4 with 156 points. The poll had a tie at #5 involving Wayland Baptist University (Texas) and Lindsey Wilson University (Ky.), each with 137 points. Evergreen was #15 with 73 points.

Evergreen and Providence were joined by Southern Oregon University as nationally ranked teams from the CCC. Southern Oregon remained in the same position as the previous poll, sitting at #11 with 87 points. The Geoducks and the Raiders stayed in their same spots in the poll, although Evergreen defeated SOU 26-19 in a dual match on Dec. 6 at the Costantino Recreation Center. Eastern Oregon University, Westcliff University (Calif.), and Arizona Christian University, all from the CCC, received votes this week, but were not in the Top 20.

The six Evergreen wrestlers included in this week's NAIA individual rankings were Flor Parker Borrero (Sr.) in the 145-pound weight class, Shannon Workinger (Jr.) in the 160-pound weight class, Ellabelle Taylor (Jr.) in the 124-pound weight class, Haley Le (Fr.) in the 138-pound weight class, Nizhoni Tallman (Sr.) in the 110-pound weight class, and Erica Grant (Jr.) in the 131-pound weight class.

Parker Borrero stayed at #3 in the rankings at 145 pounds. She placed third at the NAIA Women's Wrestling Championships in the 160-pound weight class in 2024-25. This week, the #1 wrestler at 145 pounds was Esther Kolawole from William Penn. Jordan Suarez from Wayland Baptist was #2. Following Parker Borrero were Corin Lowe of Oklahoma Christian University at #4 and Sarina Bertram of Missouri Valley College at #5.

Workinger held the #4 ranking in the 160-pound weight class as she moved up one spot. She qualified for the USA National Team last season. In front of Workinger in this week's rankings were Latifah McBryde of Life University at #1, Allyssa Johnson from Central Methodist University at #2, and Mercy Adekuoroye of Wayland Baptist at #3. Micah Fisher-Miller from University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) was ranked #5.

In the 124-pound weight class, Taylor was listed at #9 for the Geoducks. Ranked #1 was Cristelle Rodriguez from Doane University (Neb.). Victoria Baez Dilone from William Penn was ranked #2, and Catharine Campbell of Grand View was ranked #3.

At 110 pounds, Tallman owned the #14 rankings this week. She placed eighth at the NAIA Women's Wrestling Championships last spring. Leading the rankings at 110 pounds was Ariana Martinez of Life, who was followed by Emma Jones from Indiana Tech at #2. Paige Morales of Providence was ranked #3.

Grant of Evergreen remained #18 at 131 pounds, where she was listed in the previous ranking. Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp from Providence continued at #1. Jumoke Adekoye from Dickinson State University (N.D.) stayed at #2, while Devin Patton of William Penn moved into the #3 spot.
