Trefts Wins 3,000-meter Race Walk at Corban Meet

SALEM, Ore. -- Izabelle Trefts (Sr.) from The Evergreen State College took first place in the women's 3,000-meter race walk to lead the Geoducks at the Corban Indoor/Outdoor meet on Saturday, Feb. 7. The meet was held at Corban University's Outdoor Athletic Complex.

Trefts won the race walk with a time of 13:22.64. Her time set the NAIA women's national record (women's only race) in the event. Trefts broke her own Evergreen record of 13:33.27, set at the Concordia University Polar Dog Invite on Jan. 23 in Seward, Nebraska, as she qualified for the 2026 NAIA Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships with an "A" qualifying time. The new faster time for Trefts keeps her in the #1 spot on this year's NAIA performance list, which she leads by one minute. She also qualified for the 2026 USA Indoor Nationals.

Madison Palek (So.) also competed for the Geoducks in the 3,000-meter race walk at Corban. She registered a time of 16:17.93, which lowered her personal record by 38.56 seconds. She already owned an NAIA "B" qualifying time of 16:56.89 at the Concordia University meet which qualified her for the NAIA Indoor Championships.
