Evergreen

HELENA, Mont. -- Melina Grijalva (Jr.) and Katie Gresham (Sr.) each played 45 minutes in goal as The Evergreen State College tied Carroll College (Mont.) 0-0 in a Cascade Collegiate Conference game on Saturday, Sept. 26. Evergreen completed the game at 0-4-2 overall, 0-3-1 in the CCC. Carroll dropped to 2-2-4 on the season, 1-0-2 in the CCC.

Grijalva and Gresham shared the shutout for the Geoducks, with Grijalva earning three saves in the first half and Gresham adding two saves in the second half. Maria Ackerman from Carroll played all 90 minutes in goal for the Fighting Saints and earned one save while also recording a shutout.

The Saints held a 19-3 advantage in total shots but owned a closer 5-1 edge in shots on target. Carmen Anderson and Delaney Moczan each took four shots for Carroll. Daliya Prohim (Sr., M) registered Evergreen's shot on goal at 73:00, but Ackerman made a save on the play. Also creating one shot each for Evergreen were Izzy Widener (Jr., F) and Macey Swensen (Jr., M).

Several athletes for Evergreen played all 90 minutes. They were Swensen, Olivia DeVore (Fr., M), Anna Mortensen (Sr., M), Makayla Pagnotta (Sr., D), and Adaire Van Tuyl (Jr., D). 

Evergreen will return to Olympia to take on the University of Providence (Mont.) on Thursday, Oct. 1. Game time for the CCC contest at Geoducks Pitch is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. PDT.
