Box Score OLYMPIA - The Evergreen State College went toe-to-toe with NCAA Division II Saint Martin's before dropping a 62-53 decision in a women's exhibition basketball game played Tuesday night in CRC Gymnasium.
Brittany Gray scored 11 points and
Uriah Thomas came off of the bench to add an additional 11 for the Geoducks. Gray,
LaNiecia Weatherspoon and
Sadee Jones all had eight rebounds for Evergreen, and
Randi Boseman had four of the team's 13 assists on their 19 made field goals.
Saint Martin's got a game-high 18 points from Brooke Paulson and 16 more from Krista Stabler. Elin Johansson led her team with 12 rebounds.
The Saints led by as many as 13 points with just under two minutes remaining in the second half, while Evergreen had its largest lead at three points about 3 1/2 minutes into the contest.
Saint Martin's shot 36 percdent (21-for-58) from the field and just 54 percent (15-for-28) from the free throw line, while Evergreen managed 31 percent shooting (19-for-61) overall and 65 percent (13-for-20) from the charity stripe. The Saints had a slight 48-42 edge on the boards.
