Gabi Fenumiai recorded her sixth consecutive double-double but The Evergreen State College was no match for No. 19-ranked Eastern Oregon as the Mountaineers defeated the Geoducks, 83-47, in a Cascade Collegiate Conference women's basketball game played Friday night in Quinn Coliseum.
Fenumiai scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Geoducks (4-17 overall, 3-11 CCC), who also got 10 points from
Imani Dunn and nine points and four assists from
Zaria Jones.
Evergreen shot 32 percent for the game (19-for-60) and lost the rebound battle, 46-35.
The Mountaineers (18-4, 11-2) made their first eight shots in breaking out to an 18-0 lead, and they never looked back as all 13 players got into the scoring column. EOU, which held a 35-8 lead after the first quarter, had it largest advantage at 45 points in the fourth quarter.Â
Mariah Swanson scored 12 points and Ashley Knight added 11 to lead Eastern Oregon, which shot 45 percent.Â
Evergreen returns to action at 5:30 p.m. (MST) tomorrow against College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho.
