Box Score EUGENE, Ore. – Northwest Christian shot 46 percent from the field to defeat The Evergreen State College, 84-55, in a Cascade Collegiate Conference women's basketball game played Saturday night inside Morse Event Center.
The Beacons (9-6 overall, 6-2 CCC), who stayed in the top four in the conference standings, scored 10 consecutive points late in the first quarter to separate themselves from the Geoducks (3-13, 2-7).
Gabi Fenumiai recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Geoducks, who shot just 33 percent from the field. Joining Fenumiai in double-figure scoring were Zaria Jones and Corina Tacardon with 10 points apiece. Kylie Gorton pulled down eight rebounds and led Evergreen with four assists.
Northwest Christian, which led by 29 at the half, made 13 of its 36 three-point attempts. Ashley Land scored 15 points to lead four Beacons players in double figures.
Evergreen returns to action at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, when it hosts the Northwest Eagles at Costantino Recreation Center.
