Evergreen trailed by two points twice in the first quarter before taking the lead for good, 12-9, on a three-pointer by
Kaelin Williams-Kennedy with 2:17 remaining in the opening period. When

As they had the night before in opening conference play with a win over Warner Pacific, the Geoducks shot the ball well from the free throw line. In fact, Higginbotham was 7-for-10 in leading Evergreen to a 21-for-29 performance at the charity stripe.

Tiara Chinn scored 15 points and Paris Sanders grabbed a game-high 13 points in a losing effort.Â
Evergreen returns to action at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, when the University of Puget Sound visits Costantino Recreation Center for a non-conference contest. That game time is changed from the previously announced 5:30 p.m. start.
