EUGENE, Ore. – The Evergreen State College scored the first two points of the game but that was its only lead on Friday night as No. 24-ranked Northwest Christian won the Cascade Collegiate Conference women's basketball game by a 75-55 score at Morse Center.

The Geoducks (5-4 overall, 3-2 CCC) got on the board first on a Jahpera McEachin jumper, but by the end of the first quarter the Beacons (10-1, 3-1) had built a 20-11 lead as Evergreen shot just 12 percent in the opening 10 minutes. Northwest Christian continued to add to its advantage and rolled to the win.

McEachin led the Geoducks with 19 points, including a 14-for-16 effort at the foul line, while Kaelin Williams-Kennedy scored a career-high 14 points off the bench. Deidra Miller grabbed nine rebounds to lead Evergreen in that category.

Anamaria Virjoghe, Northwest Christian's 6-5 freshman center, tallied 15 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots, while Morgan McKinney added 14 points and Jenna Christenson 13.

The Geoducks were beset by poor shooting throughout the game, hitting just 21 percent from the field (13-for-62) and 74 percent (25-for-33) from the foul line, which compares to their season-long 80 percent.

The Beacons, who owned a significant size advantage, shot 41 percent overall (28-for-68) and owned a hefty 60-44 advantage in rebounds.

Evergreen returns to conference action at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow when it plays Corban University in Salem, Ore.
