The Evergreen State College women's basketball team will open the 2019-20 season on the road at the Ken Schumann Classic in Forest Grove, Ore. The Geoducks will face host Pacific University at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 and see Linfield College on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m.
About Evergreen: The Geoducks are under the direction of first-year coach Jackie Robinson. Evergreen is looking to build upon its 2-22 season last season and returned three starts from last season. Evergreen is returning leading rebounder Merrily Jones and Angela Sikora, who is the returning leading scorer from last season.
About Pacific: The Boxers are members of the NCAA Division III Conference will play in the Northwest Conference. Pacific played a couple of exhibition games this year and defeated Western Oregon 73-68 and College of Idaho 71-61.
Recent Results: Evergreen holds the 3-2 lead over Pacific. Last season in Forest Grove, the Geoducks fell 70-62 but won in 2017-18 at home 65-53.
About Linfield: The Wildcats are members of the NCAA Division III Conference and play in the Northwest Conference. Linfield is 2-1 overall this season defeating Walla Wall (99-69), Oregon Tech (89-75) and falling to College of Idaho (66-70).
Recent Results: Evergreen is 1-1 overall against the Wildcats. The Geoducks fell in 2016-17 at home 64-60 and won in Oregon 63-56 in 2013-14.
Coming Up: Evergreen will open the Cascade Collegiate season at home on Friday, Dec. 6 against Oregon Tech at 5:30 p.m. and see Southern Oregon at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.
