The Evergreen State College women's basketball team will open the 2021-22 season at the 5th Annual Northwest Classic in Kirkland, Wash., hosted by Northwest University. The Geoducks will face University of Providence on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and see Montana State University-Northern at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

About Evergreen: This will be the first time the Geoducks hit the floor since the 2019-20 season. Evergreen returned two players from that season including leading scorer
Trinity Betoney, who finished the season averaging 20.2 points per game and 7.7 rebounds a game. Evergreen added eight players to this year's team, which include six transfers and two freshmen.
About Providence: The Argo are 6-1 overall only following to Southeastern at home. Providence defeated Cascade Collegiate Conference member Corban 55-47 on Nov. 6. The Argo are led by Emilee Maldonado, who had 112 points and Parker Esary has 102 points. Esary leads on the boards with 51 rebounds.
About Montana State-Northern: MSU-Northern is currently 1-2 overall defeating Dickinson State and following to Cascade Collegiate Conference member Corban and Central Baptist College. The Skylights will play tonight before traveling to Kirkland to face Northwest and Evergreen.
