Parker Excels at CCC Multi-Event Championships

Evergreen State Track & Field started their three-day weekend at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships for the Multi-Events on Thursday and Friday, that led to a plethora of success! The CCC championships were hosted by Eastern Oregon University at their Track & Field facility in La Grande, Oregon, and started off with graduate student Corona Parker setting school records, both in the multi-event and overall school record in the 100 Hurdles for the Geoducks, with a performance of 15.25!

The second event of the day was the high jump, where Corona had the third best performance in the competition with a 1.59. Corona went on to set a multi-event best in the long jump with 4.84 meters and a personal record in the 800 with 2:41.50. Corona placed 9th of our 14 competitors at the championships.

"The Cascade Conference Multi-Event Championship is so competitive it is basically a national meet with ten of the competitors finishing in the top 20 NAIA Heptathlon 2024 National Rankings." Stated Assistant Coach Scott Copeland "Corona's performance included two Evergreen records, three personal bests, and all seven events were in Evergreen's top ten all-time lists despite competing in cold and windy conditions with a foot injury while enrolled in her first term as a graduate program student. What a fantastic performance."
