The Evergreen State College Track & Field programs ended their three-day track and field weekend at the Central Washington University Wildcat Invitational, held at the Recreation Sports Track & Field Complex in Ellensburg. Highlighting the invite was freshman
Braxton Claridy who set the Men's 200 School Record in 22.00, into a headwind, to win his heat by over a half of second, placing 4
thoverall.
"The streak continues! Another week and another school record set. These athletes keep working hard and it has led to this whole program elevating to standards never seen before," remarked Assistant Coach Katie Burnett.
Other top performances included a CCC qualifying performance by freshman
Calvin Hume in the Men's 400 hurdles with a time of 1:01.84, the 5
th best performance in school history. Geoducks also saw personal bests in the Men's Hammer and 3k by freshman
Paul Stewart (38.48m) and
Mark Tiersma (9:11.81), earning him 2
nd place. On the Women's side, junior Allison DeBerry set a personal best in the 200 with a time of 29.29.
