The Evergreen State College Track & Field programs had several athletes compete at the Cascade Collegiate Conference T&F Championships on May 10th and 11th, held at the Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, Oregon at their Moehl Stadium, located at 4,340 feet altitude.
Highlighting the CCC Championships were several excellent performances. Freshman
Alauna Carstens placed 2nd in the Championships in the 5,000 Meters, a day after her 5th place finish in the 1500 Meters. Junior
River Scheuerell won the 5,000 Meter Racewalk in his second time ever competing in the event with an NAIA 'A' Standard and school record performance of 24:31.93. Freshman
Braxton Claridy hit consistent times, running the second fastest times ever in school history, with the 400 Meters on Day 1 in a time of 49.39, and the 200 Meters in 21.94 on Day 2, placing 7th. Also scoring points for the Geoducks was junior
Corona Parker, placing 8th in the Women's High Jump eclipsing a height of 1.59m.
"It was great seeing the efforts of our conference qualifiers putting in their last performances ahead of nationals. The season is over for many of our athletes, and I am proud of the results we've seen so far and looking forward to what our qualifiers will do at nationals!"Â said Assistant Coach Katie Burnett.
The Geoduck Women tied for 9
th place, while the men placed 11
th.

The Geoducks return to action in Track & Field at the NAIA National Track & Field Championships, held May 22nd to 24th at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana, at their Track & Field Complex.
