SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Evergreen State College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Mile City event on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the University of Washington in the Dempsey Indoor facility. The meet included 216 athletes in the women's mile run and 449 athletes in the men's mile run.
Leading the Evergreen men's team was
Rowan Hicks (So.), who completed the race in 4:27.52. He placed 94th overall.
Max Baeder (So.) followed at 4:36.12.

Also competing for the Geoducks in the men's race were three athletes who finished the mile with less than a second separating their times.
Harlan Estrada (Jr.) was timed at 4:44.14, while
Luis Esquivel (Fr.) ended the race in 4:44.18 and
Osvaldo Calderon (Fr.) was timed at 4:44.95.
In the women's race,
Madison Palek (So.) of Evergreen registered a time of 5:43.81.
Mara Schwenneker (Jr.) concluded the race in 5:49.20.Â
The Evergreen track and field teams will be in action again on Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Portland Indoor #1 competition. The meet will be hosted by the University of Portland at the Chiles Center.
