Evergreen Featured Athlete of the Week: Tyler No

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Tyler No (Jr., G) on The Evergreen State College men's basketball team is the Evergreen Featured Athlete of the Week for December 11, 2025. Prior to joining the Geoducks, No played basketball at Highline College. He also competed in basketball at Timberline High School in his hometown of Lacey, Washington.

In high school, No was named All-League three times, helped his team win back-to-back league titles, and contributed to Timberline qualifying for the State Tournament in 2022. No also earned academic awards during all four years of high school.

"What I remember most from my success on the court at Timberline wasn't just the wins or the awards – it was having fun with my teammates every single day. We had a really close group," No recalled. "The All-League honors and the league titles were great, but they happened because we trusted each other and competed for each other. It's those relationships and that feeling of being part of something bigger than myself that I'll always remember.

"Academically, what stood out to me (at Timberline) was learning how to stay disciplined and consistent," No said. "Earning four years of academic awards meant a lot because it showed that I could balance school and basketball the right way. It taught me time management, responsibility, and how to represent my program the right way – and those are skills I still use every day."

"I enjoy creating for others and scoring the basketball at three levels (on the court)," No commented. "I feel like my greatest strengths are shooting and putting pressure on the defense. I also take great pride in defense, and I have no problem coming in and picking up a player over all 94 feet. I love passing the ball. It's more fun when everyone is playing and scoring."

Between graduating from Timberline High School and arriving at Evergreen, No played basketball at Highline College in Des Moines, Washington. Highline competes at the junior college level in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC).

"Going to Highline was one of the best experiences of my life," No said. "I feel like my game became more complete at Highline, and I left feeling confident that I could play at a high level. My fundamentals got better, and I was able to control by pace a lot more."

When No was ready to transfer, he discovered that Evergreen was a great fit for him.

"I decided to attend Evergreen as a student-athlete because it made the most sense to me and my family," No stated. "I'm from the Lacey area, so it's been nice to be back at home. Academically, Evergreen presented a great and affordable option to get my bachelor's degree. Athletically, just being able to compete against some of the best teams in the country was enough for me."

No has been reunited with former Highline teammates Bradley Graham (Sr., G) and Amari Jackson (Jr., W) at Evergreen. No also thrilled to be a part of this year's team.

"I like my teammates and being able to play basketball every day," No said.

In addition to attending college and playing basketball for the Geoducks, No has developed a brand of clothing.

"I started the brand in 2024, and it's been an amazing journey," No commented. "Right now, I make more streetwear/comfort type clothing. From the designing mockup in Photoshop to screen printing, everything is handmade by me."

With a clothing line already underway, it's no surprise that No is focusing on Marketing and Artificial Intelligence Development as a student.

"I want to travel the world and run my clothing brand. I'm hoping to get into some internships as well," No said regarding his future plans.
