GAINESVILLE, Fla. --
Alauna Carstens (Jr., So. in indoor track) from The Evergreen State College has reached the final in the women's 3,000-meter run at the 2025 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Alachua Country Sports & Events Center. Carstens won her heat and registered the fourth-fastest time during the preliminary heats on Friday, Feb. 28. She will be among 12 competitors in the final on Saturday, March 1 at 3 p.m. EST / 12 p.m. PST.
Carstens won the second heat with a time of 10:08.90. The overall top time of the prelims was earned by Sharon Jemeli from University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), who won the first heat in 10:08.33. Katie Clarke from the Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) achieved a time of 10:08.71, while Ellen-Mary Kearney from Milligan University (Tenn.) reached the finish line in 10:08.88. Clarke and Kearney each ran in the first heat. Hannah Fredericks of The Master's University (Calif.) placed second behind Carstens in the second heat with a time of 10:09.76. The top four finishers in each of the two heats, plus the competitors with the next four fastest times, advanced to the final.

Izabelle Trefts (Jr.) of Evergreen won the NAIA Championship in the women's 3,000-meter race walk with a school record and Alachua County facility record with a time of 13:53.46. She also earned All-America honors.
