MONMOUTH, Ore. --
Alauna Carstens (Jr.) from The Evergreen State College finished in sixth place out of 61 athletes in the women's 1,500-meter run at the John Knight Twilight on Friday, April 11. The track and field meet was held at McArthur Field on the Western Oregon University campus.
Carstens registered a time of 4:37.92 in the 1,500 to qualify for the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championships and move into 11th place on the NAIA performance list for the 2025 season. She was less than two seconds away from the NAIA "B" standard.
Ellie Rising from George Fox University won the women's 1,500 in 4:28.68. Emma Stolte from Portland State University was second at 4:31.56, and unattached athlete Eleanor Wyatt placed third at 4:33.47.
In the men's 1,500-meter run,
Rowan Hicks (So.) of Evergreen earned a time of 4:10.44 and was 45th out of 95 competitors.
Luis Esquivel (Fr.) finished the race in 4:15.73 and
Evan Williams (Jr.) was timed at 4:15.83. All three Geoducks set personal records.
Max Baeder (So.) placed 16th overall for Evergreen out of 60 athletes in the men's 5,000-meter run. Baeder's time was a personal record of 15:17.97 as he won the second heat.
The Geoducks are set to compete at the Puget Sound Invitational on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13. The meet will be held on the University of Puget Sound campus n Tacoma, Washington.
