Lutes Pluck Geoducks, 5-0

PARKLAND, Wash. – Led by two goals from Lauren Larson, the Pacific Lutheran Lutes earned a big win over the visiting Evergreen Geoducks in a non-conference women's soccer match on Friday afternoon at PLU soccer field in Parkland, Wash.

The Lutes took the initial lead in the 10th minute as Kaylie Rozell sent in a pass to Larson, who finished for the score.  PLU made it 2-0 in the 30th minute on a goal by Machaela Graddy, assited by Jamie Goffman.

An unassisted score by Megan Anderson in the 55th minute put the Lutes up by three and the score continued to grow as Pacific Lutheran scored two more goals to earn the 5-0 win.

Kenzie Phillips led the Evergreen offense with three shots on the match, including two on net, but both attempts on frame were saved by the Lutes as  Bryce Kennedy and Takara Mitsui teamed up for the shutout.  Kyla Kitts made four saves for the Geoducks, allowing all five scores.

Evergreen will be back in action on Tuesday night as they head down to Portland to take on Warner Pacific in a non-conference match.  First kick with the Knights is set for 7 p.m. at Portland Christian High School.
