Box Score KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Lavar Moore scored 31 points Saturday night to lead the Oregon Tech Owls to an 85-57 Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball victory over The Evergreen State College at Danny Miles Court.
With Moore scoring seven points more than his conference-leading average, the Owls pulled away to improve to 12-6 overall and 5-3 in the CCC. Evergreen is now 3-11 overall and 0-7 in the conference.
The game was tied for a little less than two minutes at the outset, but once Oregon Tech took the lead on Brandon Bautista's three-point basket about 2 1/2 minutes in the Owls were in command. They took their largest lead at 30 points inside of the final minute.
Moore was 10-for-15 from the field, including 5-for-8 from three-point range, and was perfect on all six of his free throws. Kyle Waits scored 16 points, Duncan Schramm added 11 and Josh Johnson garnered 11 rebounds, all off of the bench, to aid Oregon Tech's cause. The Owls shot 52 percent from the field for the game.
Evergreen's
Brock Otis had his highest scoring total of the season with 19 points, and he also grabbed five rebounds.
Alix Hernandez scored 11 points while
Jordan Dam led the team with seven rebounds.
The Geoducks shot 36 percent overall, including 13 percent (3-for-23) from beyond the three-point arc. One night after getting handled on the boards by Southern Oregon, Evergreen had a strong rebounding performance, grabbing 38 to Oregon Tech's 39.
Evergreen is back in action at 7:30 next Friday when Concordia comes to CRC Gymnasium for a conference clash.
