Box Score LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon scored four goals in the first half and went on to defeat The Evergreen State College, 5-0, in the Cascade Collegiate Conference women's soccer opener for both teams played Friday afternoon at EOU Soccer Field.
The Mountaineers improved to 6-0 overall with the win while the Geoducks are now 0-4 for the season.
Eastern Oregon scored its first two goals within 92 seconds of each other and built its lead from there. The opening goal came from Megan Dimler at the 19:59 mark, and at 21:31 Maddi Cillay tallied the first of her two goals to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage.
The other first half goals came from Allison Jordan at 37:59 and from Cillay at 44:00. The game's final tally came at 61:20 from Haley Hill.
The hosts dominated on the scoreboard and in the statistical column with a 35-3 advantage in shots and 5-1 margin in corner kicks.
Kayla Baskett had three saves while playing the first half in goal for Evergreen, and
Alison Mackey stopped six attempts while allowing the final goal. Jessica Parker came up with one save for Eastern Oregon.
Evergreen, still in search of its first goal of the season, returns to action at 8 p.m. Saturday when it takes on the Warner Pacific Knights in Portland, Ore.
