Box Score CALDWELL, Idaho – College of Idaho broke a scoreless tie less than one minute into the second half and went on to defeat The Evergreen State College, 3-1, in a Cascade Collegiate Conference women's soccer match played Friday afternoon at Simplot Stadium.

The first half was evenly played with Evergreen (2-6-3 overall, 0-5-3 CCC) owning a 7-6 lead in shots and College of Idaho (7-5-1, 3-4-1) taking a 2-0 edge in corner kicks.

It took just 45 seconds of the second half for the Coyotes to break the deadlock, the goal going to Maddie Brown. The hosts added their second at 62:43 and again it was Brown netting her seventh of the season, the assists going to Bailey Watson and Jamiece Yizar, who also had the assist on the opener.

Evergreen pulled one back at 74:06 to put pressure on the home side. Alli Crain scored her first of the season, shooting under 'Yotes keeper Brittany Houghton after taking a pass from Maddie Lockwood.

With the Geoducks pressing for the tying goal, College of Idaho put the game to rest at 86:14 when Allie Boyd scored her second of the season, the assist going to Emma Powley.

College of Idaho finished ahead in the statistical battle with a 15-11 edge in shots and 4-0 advantage in corner kicks. As they have done for most of the season, however, the Geoducks had more shots on goal with seven compared to five for the 'Yotes. As a result, College of Idaho keeper Houghton ended the match with six saves compared to one for Evergreen's Kayla Baskett, who also benefitted from a defensive clearance off the line.

The loss puts the Geoducks on the brink of elimination from the conference postseason tournament. With three matches remaining, Evergreen must get at least two wins and a tie to get to 10 points, which is the amount shared by the teams in seventh (College of Idaho) and eighth (Great Falls) places. They go for the first of those wins at 2:30 p.m. (MDT) Sunday against Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont.
