Box Score KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Offensive struggles continued for The Evergreen State College on a sunny Saturday afternoon as the Geoducks lost a 1-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference women's soccer contest to the host Oregon Tech Owls at OIT Soccer Field.
The Geoducks (2-5-1 overall, 0-4-1 CCC) failed the score a goal in their fifth consecutive conference match and haven't put the ball into the net since ripping off five goals in a 5-3 road win against the Pacific Boxers on Sept. 1.
Oregon Tech scored the game's lone goal at the 51:19 mark when Cassidy Gosvener headed the ball home. The play started when Jody Reoch's corner kick was nodded on by Kylie Cowell to Gosvener, who finished into the back of the net.
The Owls had the majority of the ball in the opening half and outshot the Geoducks, 10-2, but the game remained scoreless at the intermission.
Gosvener changed that with her header in the 52nd minute, and after that the Geoducks had to chase the game. Second half shots were much closer, Oregon Tech taking nine and Evergreen seven. Final shot totals showed the hosts with 19 compared to nine for the Geoducks.
Delaney Rice had two of Evergreen's three shots on goal. OIT also enjoyed a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Evergreen's
Kayla Baskett recorded four saves, while Oregon Tech's Megan Green picked up three.
The Geoducks play their final home matches of the season next weekend when they host Carroll College at 1 p.m. Friday and Great Falls at 1 p.m. Saturday. After that, Evergreen plays its final four regular season matches on the road.
