Box Score SEATTLE – The Evergreen State College likely won't play a tougher women's basketball opponent this season than the Seattle Pacific team that defeated the Geoducks, 88-47, on Tuesday night at Brougham Pavilion.
The NCAA Division II Falcons (5-0) remained unbeaten by taking a 26-9 lead after the first quarter and adding to that advantage in the next two periods, eventually pulling ahead 75-30 before the visiting Geoducks (0-4) took a small bit out of that deficit in the last quarter.
Corina Tacardon,
Autumn Moorcroft and
Zaria Jones all tallied nine points to lead the Geoducks in scoring, and
Kylie Gorton pulled down six rebounds to lead in that category.
Evergreen shot just 32 percent from the field compared to 47 percent for the hosts. Rebounding was pretty even as the Falcons grabbed 42 to 39 for the Geoducks.
Seattle Pacific had four players score in double figures, led by Courtney Hollander with 17.
The Geoducks return to action at 4 p.m. tomorrow when they host non-conference opponent Pacific Lutheran at Costantino Recreation Center.
