COMING UP: The Evergreen State College (0-9-2 overall, 0-6-1 CCC) heads out on its final regular season road trip where it will face the University of Providence Argos (5-6-0, 4-3-0) at 1 p.m. Friday in Great Falls, Mont., and the Carroll College Saints (5-5-2, 1-4-2) in Helena, Mont., at noon on Saturday.

ABOUT THE GEODUCKS: Evergreen has had a run of bad luck this season, and nothing is better evidence of that than a rash of injuries that has decimated the roster. Still, the Geoducks have been playing hard while searching for their first win of the 2017 campaign. They hope to accomplish that goal this coming weekend, but they need to find success on the offensive end of the field in particular in order to accomplish that task. They have gone scoreless in four consecutive matches and have just four goals to their credit this year, three of them coming from junior Hunter Thomson Terrel. While they have been outshot by their opponents by a 2-to-1 ratio, 201-96, they have put 47 percent of their attempts on frame compared to 42 percent for their opponents. Goalkeeper Emily Sorenson is second in in conference matches with 6.33 saves per match and has a 1.81 goals against average for the season.

ABOUT PROVIDENCE: The Argos are tied for sixth in the conference standings with 12 points from their 4-3-0 record. It's interesting to note that their results look like this - win, loss, win, loss, win, loss, win. Evergreen is the next opponent. Eme McLaughlin is the reigning conference offensive player of the year and leads her team with six goal and two assists, followed by Sydney Knieriem with five goals and two assists. While Providence has scored 20 goals in all competition, it has allowed 23, and it has been outscored 15-7 in the second half of all matches. Dakota Neumann has a 2.13 goals against average in goal for the Argos.

ABOUT CARROLL: The Saints were picked to win their third straight Cascade Conference regular season title but through seven matches are tied for ninth place with five points from a 1-5-2 record, including 0-4-1 over their last five games. Carroll has a balanced offense with 10 different goal scorers, led by Madison Apsey and Brynn Walker with three apiece. Devan Murfitt, twice named the conference defender of the week earlier in the season, had a 1.22 goals against average in 2017.

OREGON TECH 2, EVERGREEN 0: The visiting Owls scored a goal in each half to beat the Geoducks, 2-0, in a conference match played last Friday afternoon at Geoduck Pitch.

SOUTHERN OREGON 1, EVERGREEN 0: The Geoducks outshot the Raiders in the second half by an 8-5 margin, but it was the visitors who scored the game's only goal in the 79th minute. Evergreen forced three saves from the Southern Oregon keeper.
