ABOUT THE GEODUCKS: Junior guard
Pat Ling leads the Geoducks in scoring with 15.0 points per game and in assists with 3.1 per contest. Junior forward
Ryan Quigley is second in scoring with 13.0 points per game and he is the team's rebounding leader with 6.9 per contest. Additionally, Quigley is shooting at a 55 percent clip from the field and 89 percent mark at the foul line. Senior post
Jaurence Chisholm averages 9.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and is shooting 63 percent from the field this season. Evergreen is still looking for its first victory of the season, though it has come very close in two of its last three games. A couple of possessions that turned out differently would have made the difference against both Pacific and Multnomah.
DIGGING DEEPER: Looking a little deeper into Evergreen's results through this stage of the season, its opponents have compiled an impressive 35-12 overall record, including a combined 24-3 by non-conference foes (the Geoducks lost twice to 6-2 Puget Sound and twice to 8-0 Pacific, in addition to a loss to 10-1 Lewis-Clark State College).
ABOUT LEWIS & CLARK: The Pioneers are off to a slow start at 1-5, including a 1-2 record on their home court. Sophomore guard Andrew Vickers leads the way with 15.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, followed by sophomore forward Nico Bricker with 12.0 points per game and junior guard Mak Huston with 11.5 points per contest.
RECENT RESULTS: Evergreen and Lewis & Clark played on this same date (Dec. 6) one year ago, the host Geoducks pulling out a 92-81 victory. Prior to that, Lewis & Clark had two consecutive wins over Evergreen, 73-61 during the 2008-09 season and 77-74 during the 2014-15 campaign.
ABOUT LINFIELD: The Wildcats, who play at Northwest Christian on Wednesday night, are off to an excellent start at 6-1. The balanced scoring attack - six players average at least 9.0 points per game - is led by Jordan Clark with 12.3 points. Other top scorers are Liam O'Reilly at 12.1 and Riley Bruil at 11.1 points per game. Clark and O'Reilly are the leading rebounders with 6.3 and 5.3 per game, respectively.
RECENT RESULT: The last time that these two teams back on Nov. 15, 2014, Evergreen defeated Linfield, 81-63, at a tournament in Portland, Ore.
WARNER PACIFIC: Evergreen trailed by 30 points at the half against a hot-shooting Warner Pacific team and couldn't overcome that large deficit last Friday night in losing its Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball opener, 94-66, in Portland, Ore.
Jaurence Chisholm scored 16 points on 8-for-12 shooting and
Ryan Quigley added 11 for the Geoducks, who shot 45 percent (26-for-58) overall but just 18 percent (2-for-11) from three-point range.
MULTNOMAH 74, EVERGREEN 69: Evergreen came as close as they have all season to their first win, but in the end if was the Multnomah Lions who made key free throws late to take a 74-69 conference win inside MU's Lytle Gym.
Pat Ling scored 19 points to lead the Geoducks, followed by
Ryan Quigley with 12 points and nine rebounds. Jaurence Chisholm added 11 points and eight rebounds and
