ABOUT THE GEODUCKS: With seven games – four at home – left on the schedule, Evergreen remains very much in the hunt for one of eight conference postseason tournament berths. Junior guard Pat Ling has averaged 16.1 points and 5.2 assists in conference play this season and paces the team throughout the season with averages of 15.0 points and 4.2 assists. Ling has scored in double figures in nine of the last 10 games, including 22 points each in three of the past four contest. Junior forward Ryan Quigley, who averages 13.9 points per game for the season, has been particularly effective in conference play with 15.0 points per game, and he has hit double figures in six of the past seven contests. Quigley has been consistent in the rebounding department, leading Evergreen and averaging 6.7 for the entire season and in conference games. Incidentally, Ling (34.9) and Quigley (33.9) average the most minutes per game of any players in Cascade Collegiate Conference action. Other standouts for the Geoducks include senior post Jaurence Chisolm, who averages 9.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game throughout the season, and senior guard/forward Dustin Meade, the team's leading three-point shooter at 37.2 percent. The Geoducks are tied for the best scoring defense (76.2 points per game) in conference action but also rank last in scoring offense (69.8, which is 0.2 points per game lower than its overall average).

ABOUT CORBAN: The Warriors finished the 2016-17 conference season in eighth place before an amazing postseason run that culminated in the conference tournament title and a berth at the national tournament. This year the Warriors are in sixth place in the conference standings with seven games to play. Senior guard Chris Martin scores 15.0 points per game and shoots 42.7 percent from three-point range, while senior post Joel Johnson averages 14.9 points and 7.4 rebounds and ranks first among CCC players with 67.8 percent shooting accuracy and 2.4 blocks per game. Senior point guard AJ Monterossi, who averages 4.5 assists per game, recently surpassed the 1,500-point mark for his career. Corban averages 87.0 points for the season but "only" 79.0 in conference play. The Warriors are strong on the boards at a plus 11.9 in rebounds compared to its opponents.

THE FIRST TIME:  Corban never trailed in handing Evergreen a 74-58 conference defeat on Dec. 30 in Salem, Ore. Pat Ling finished with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists.

RECENT RESULTS: As a result of Corban's win over Evergreen on Dec. 30, the Warriors now have an 11-10 advantage in the series dating back to the 2007-08 season.

ABOUT NORTHWEST CHRISTIAN: The two-time defending conference regular season champion Beacons will not successfully defend their title this season as they sit in seventh place with a 4-7 record, but they are not a team to be taken lightly. One of the main reasons for that statement comes in the form of 6-6 senior forward Michael Loomis, who averages 19.9 points and 9.1 rebounds for the season, including 22.2 points and 9.3 rebounds in conference play. Loomis is two weeks removed from being selected as the NAIA Division II men's basketball national player of the week. Junior guard Kenny Blackwell is a backcourt threat with 4.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Northwest Christian is a high-scoring team while also allowing a lot of points, averaging a CCC-leading 91.5 while giving up 92.2 in conference games this season.

THE FIRST TIME: Pat Ling drilled a 16-foot jump shot with 8.3 seconds left and Northwest Christian's potential game-winning shot was ruled to have come after the final buzzer as the Geoducks beat the Beacons, 81-80, on Dec. 29 in Eugene. Dustin Meade was on fire in this game, shooting 8-for-12 overall, including an impressive 6-for-7 from three-point range, in leading the Geoducks with 22 points. Ling added 16 points, five rebounds and three assists, Ryan Quigley scored 13 points and Jaurence Chisolm finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots.

RECENT RESULTS: In 21 games played since the 2007-08 campaign, Northwest Christian has won 12 and Evergreen has won nine, though the Beacons have defeated the Geoducks 11 out of the last 13 times the teams have played.

SOUTHERN OREGON 74, EVERGREEN 68: Pat Ling scored 22 points last Saturday night but it was Southern Oregon that came away with the victory, beating Evergreen, 74-68, in a conference game played in Ashland, Ore.

OREGON TECH 70, EVERGREEN 59: The host Owls topped the Geoducks, 70-59, last Sunday in Klamath Falls, Ore., despite 21 points from Ryan Quigley and 19 from Pat Ling.
