ABOUT THE GEODUCKS: Senior forward
Ryan Quigley continues to lead the Geoducks with 15.6 points per game, and the program's single-season free throw percentage record holder continues to be deadly at the charity stripe, hitting 20-for-22 for 90.9 percent. He leads the conference and is ranked 13th nationally in that category. He is also tied with senior forward
Jared Roffler for the team lead with 7.2 rebounds per game. Other statistical standouts for the Geoducks are
Elijah Fuller with 13.2 points per game, Roffler and senior forward
Malik Redmond with 10.4 points per game, and junior guard
Raven Frazier with 4.0 assists per game. Evergreen shoots a solid 49.1 percent from the field and averages 89.6 points while giving up 96.2 per game. The Geoducks are on top in the rebounding statistics with an average of 44.2 per game compared to 36.6 for their opponents.
FORFEIT WINS: With Walla Walla University suspending its season, Evergreen has picked up those two forfeit wins, which gives it a 4-3 overall record, including a 2-3 mark on the court.
ABOUT WARNER PACIFIC: The Knights (6-2 overall) are ranked No. 17 in this week's NAIA Division II Top 25, up six spots from the previous poll. Senior forward Collin Malcolm is the team leader with averages of 17.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. This is a balanced team with four other players averaging at least 7.2 points per game. The Knights score 73.0 per game and allow 69.8, and they out-rebound their opponents by one per game, 37.8 to 36.8.
RECENT RESULTS: The Knights have won 15 of the last 16 games played between the two squads, including sweeping the Geoducks by 94-66 and 95-77 scores last year. The lone Evergreen win over the last 16 contests was a scintillating 87-85 home court decision during the 2016-17 season that broke a string of 12 consecutive Warner Pacific wins.
ABOUT MULTNOMAH: Get ready for an up-and-down the floor game from the Lions, who lead all of NAIA Division II men's basketball with an average of 112.1 points per game. That is 13 points per game more than the team in second in per game scoring average. Multnomah has three players ranked in the top 13 in NAIA Division II scoring – Justin Martin in fourth at 28.1, Brett Blackstock in 11th at 23.0, and Zach Richardson in 13th at 22.6. Not surprisingly, the Lions score points in bunches by looking first for the three-point shots. They average 22.1 made three-pointers per game, easily the best among NAIA Division II men's teams. Martin, a junior guard, has already knocked down 48 three pointers this season and freshman guard Richardson is close behind with 43. Blackstock, a senior forward, is shooting 56.9 percent overall and leads the team with 9.6 rebounds per game. Two other standouts are senior forward Ben Grandle with 19.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game and junior guard Briggs Young with 11.0 assists per game.
RECENT RESULTS: Multnomah swept Evergreen last season, 74-69 and 100-82, and now has four victories compared to the Geoducks' two since Multnomah joined the Cascade Collegiate Conference during the 2015-16 season.
LAST WEEK: The Geoducks played twice on the road last week, losing to Pacific Lutheran by a 96-79 score in the counting game and 111-65 to Central Washington in an exhibition game.
CONFERENCE POLL: Evergreen picked up 29 points and was picked to finish ninth in the conference coaches preseason poll. Warner Pacific finished fourth in the poll with 93 points and Multnomah was picked to place 10th as a result of 27 total points.
