COMING UP: The Evergreen State College (5-22 overall, 4-14 CCC) concludes its 2017-18 season this weekend when it hosts the Multnomah University Lions (8-20, 4-14) on Friday and the Warner Pacific University Knights (19-8, 13-5) on Saturday in the Costantino Recreation Center gymnasium. Both games are slated to get underway at 7:30 p.m., but the Warner Pacific contest is likely to start about 15 minutes late due to Senior Night presentations prior to the game.

FOLLOW THE GEODUCKS: Evergreen basketball fans unable to make it out to the CRC can still follow their Geoducks via live stats and/or pay-per-view streaming video at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/evergreen/.

SENIOR NIGHT: A total of six Evergreen seniors will be honored prior to the start of the men's contest on Saturday night. The six are guard Pat Ling (Lakewood, Wash./Clover Park HS), guard/forward Dustin Meade (Olympia, Wash./Black Hills HS), guard Dezmond Wilson (Seattle, Wash./Kennedy HS), post Shawn Spencer (Puyallup, Wash./Cascade Christian HS), forward Quinton Whitfield (Vancouver, Wash./Ft. Vancouver HS), and post Jaurence Chisolm (University Place, Wash./Curtis HS). Ling has played one season at Evergreen and the other five have played two seasons each.

ABOUT THE GEODUCKS: Evergreen was officially eliminated from the Cascade Conference postseason tournament following results from last weekend's contests, but it can still play a part in affecting the tournament field and seeding positions this weekend. The Geoducks enter the weekend averaging 70.1 points and allowing 79.3 per game, and for the season have grabbed one less rebound (956 to 955) than their opponents. Guard Pat Ling ranks eighth among conference players with 16.0 points per game, and he is fifth in assists with 4.1 per contest. Junior forward Ryan Quigley is also putting up outstanding numbers with 14.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting 54.7 percent from the field and 85.9 percent from the foul line. Post Jaurence Chisolm is among the conference leaders with 57.6 percent field goal accuracy. The Geoducks have compiled four of their five wins this season on their home hardwood.

ABOUT MULTNOMAH: The Lions come to the CRC with an outside chance of earning the last of eight conference postseason tournament berths, though they would have to beat both Evergreen on Friday and Northwest on Saturday in addition to seeing Northwest lose to Warner Pacific on Friday. The Lions, who are 3-9 on the road this season, average 75.9 points per game while giving up 87.3, and they are negative 7.3 rebounds per game during the campaign. Multnomah is one of the worst shooting teams in the Cascade Conference, hitting 39.3 percent overall and just 32.7 percent from three-point range. The individual statistical leaders are both junior forwards, Brett Blackstock with 15.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game and Ben Grandle with 12.9 points and 7.8 boards per contest.

THE FIRST TIME: The first time these two teams met came during the opening weekend of the conference season and it was Multnomah that held off an Evergreen rally to pull out a 74-69 victory in Portland, Ore. The game was played on Dec. 2, 2017. Pat Ling scored 19 points and Ryan Quigley added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Geoducks.

RECENT RESULTS: The Lions have three wins and the Geoducks have taken two since Multnomah joined the Cascade Collegiate Conference during the 2015-16 season.

ABOUT WARNER PACIFIC: The Knights, who play at Northwest University on Friday night, are tied for second place in the conference standing and will be attempt to secure the No. 2 seed in the conference postseason tournament this weekend. The team is tied for No. 13 in the most recent NAIA Division II men's basketball Top 25 and is 6-5 on the road for the season. Warner Pacific averages 85.4 points and allows 77.5 per game, shoots 49.3 percent from the field, and is plus 3.7 in rebounding margin. Senior guard Xavier Cannefax averages a team-best 18.6 points per game, and forward Collin Malcolm is a real talent who averages 15.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. De'Jon Bowman tops the Cascade Conference with an average of 9.8 rebounds per contest, and Montel Shirley is second with an average of 1.9 steals. The Knights, in fact, rank second in the league with an average of 8.4 steals per game.

THE FIRST TIME: In the conference opener for both teams played on Dec. 1, Warner Pacific led by 30 points at the half  and rolled to a 94-66 win over Evergreen in Portland, Ore. The Knights shot 10-for-15 from three-point range in the opening half to build their big lead. Jaurence Chisolm scored 16 points to pace the Geoducks.

RECENT RESULTS: Last season, Evergreen broke a string of 12 consecutive Warner Pacific series wins with a scintillating 87-85 home court victory, but the Knights have won 14 of the last 15 games played between the two squads.

NORTHWEST 71, EVERGREEN 58: The host Eagles pulled away in the second half to grab a 71-58 victory over Evergreen last Tuesday night in Kirkland. Ryan Quigley had his fifth double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Pat Ling added 18 points for the Geoducks.
