Evergreen Unable to Stay with Mountaineers

Box Score LA GRANDE, Ore. – Dustin Meade scored 21 points Saturday night but The Evergreen State College came out on the short end of a 95-77 Cascade Collegiate Conference men's basketball loss to No. 20-ranked Eastern Oregon inside Quinn Coliseum.

The Geoducks (5-21 overall, 4-13 CCC) never led in the game and were tied twice in the early going before a 9-0 run put the Mountaineers (20-4, 12-4) ahead to stay.

Meade hit a trio of three-point baskets in scoring his 21 points, while Ryan Quigley finished with a double-double, tallying 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Pat Ling added 17 points and eight assists for Evergreen.

Max McCullough, the league's second leading scorer, poured in 25 points to lead the Mountaineers, who also got 22 points from Austin Winegar.

Evergreen returns to action at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night against Northwest University in Kirkland.
