Box Score KIRKLAND - The Evergreen women's soccer team ran into the recently soaring Northwest University Eagles on Saturday afternoon and came out on the wrong end of a 6-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference score line.
The Eagles (5-6-0 overall, 4-1-0 CCC) had won four of their last five games, including three of their four conference counters, and continued that run of good form by scoring three goals in each half. Katie Michkiosky netted twice in a one-minute span of the second half and now has 11 goals to lead the conference.
Evergreen (2-8-0, 1-4-0) managed three shots - all in the second half - and put all on target to force Northwest goalkeeper Kat Sanchez to make a trio of saves.
The host team finished with 18 total shots, nine on goal, and Evergreen keepers
Megan Breckenridge and
Daphne Hobbs combined for all three of the team's saves in the final half.
The Geoducks are back in action at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, when the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers visit Geoduck Pitch for a conference match.
